On June 4 and 5, a special event was held at Na Oh, a Korean restaurant located within the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), to commemorate the Center’s first anniversary. As part of the curated experience, a variety of dishes featuring Jeju Hanwoo beef were presented, offering Singapore guests a rare opportunity to taste premium Korean beef firsthand.
The event was attended by representatives from the Singapore government and public institutions, diplomatic missions, media, and local industry stakeholders. Many expressed high satisfaction with the Jeju Hanwoo dishes, with several guests inquiring about future access and distribution channels following official export commencement — demonstrating clear interest in the product.
Jeju Hanwoo recently received official recognition as a Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination-free zone from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) at its General Session on May 29. Based on this recognition, exports of Jeju Hanwoo are expected to begin later this year. The tasting at HMGICS served as a meaningful first step in introducing Jeju Hanwoo to the Singapore market and building early engagement with international consumers.
