Following the launch of this collaboration project in September 2025, there was an overwhelming response and had the second successful program in April 2026 with 23 participating professionals; this session significantly enhanced the program’s reputation.
This isn’t just a typical classroom setup. An excursion organized around specific themes and participants saw innovation firsthand by exploring:
- Sustainable Urban Planning: Briefing on Jeju’s innovation ecosystem and energy policies, featuring the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (e.g., Jeju Corporate Investment Division) and the Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC) and CFI Energy Future Center.
- Renewable Energy Systems: Field visits to Jeju’s wind, solar, and green hydrogen initiatives – Dongbok & Bukchon Wind Farm; Tamra Offshore Wind Farm; Green Hydrogen Production Demo Complex; and the hydrogen bus station.
- Circular Economy & Waste Management: Visit to the Jeju Environmental Resources Recycling Center.
- Local Enterprise Visit: Meet up with a Jeju-based solar energy systems company.
