In order to promote and commercialize colored barley, Damen Jeju started its first contract farming pilot cultivation of colored barley on Udo Island (part of Jeju Island) in 2019. Building on the Udo project, Damen Jeju has engaged in contract farming around major Jeju colored barley production sites, purchasing and commercializing the barley via the South Korean National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup). Currently, the company is developing and selling a makgeolli kit using green barley from Gapado Island (part of Jeju Island), along with supplying nutritious Jeju Colored Barley, Jeju Udo Black Barley, Jeju Gapado Green Barley, and its processed products such as Barley Noodles and Tea. |
