JEJUMAMI Co., Ltd. was established on 17 May, 2017 in Jeju Island by women taking career breaks as they moved from Seoul to Jeju Island and manufactures processed grains products from Jeju Island’s agricultural products. Specifically, it makes snacks using black barley, wild rice, and green barley produced in Jeju Island. Nutritious rice kits, and instant rice products incorporating Jeju Island’s field crops such as carrots, onions, broccolli, shiitake mushrooms, rapeseed greens, mountain herbs etc. are also part of its products line-up. Ultimately, it aims to provide healthy food products for consumers that are aligned with modern consumers’ preferences. Additionally, it is making efforts to promote Jeju Island’s raw ingredients of bracken and mugwort through processing and distributing them in small packages such that consumers can enjoy them all year round. Recognized as a social enterprise, the company continuously employs people in low-income bracket, women facing career interruption and those with disabilities. In particular, it educates those with disabilities to empower them to become more self-reliant. |
