UMUSOAP Inc. was established in 2021 and entered Jeju International
Airport within the same year. It received the Jeju cosmetic certification for
3 types of its pudding soap in June that year, and following which, it
applied for 2 type of soap manufacturing patent application using agar-agar.
At the end of 2021, UMUSOAP Inc. opened its retail store in Jeju, and also
started selling in Seogwipo Online Duty Free Shop in 2023. The cumulative
number of visitors over the years to UMUSOAP Inc. retail store was
240,000 and in in the first year, its sales reached $57,800. Currently, its
products are distributed through retail stores, Naver smart store, Seogwipo
Online Duty Free Shop, and is set to be sold through online malls as well.
In 2023, UMUSOAP Inc. also achieved its vegan certification for its hand and
lip balm products, and was awarded top 10 in a startup challenge.
As Jeju Clean Local Cosmetics Brand, UMUSOAP Inc. creates high-quality
products and its repurchase rate is more than 20%. Taking pride in its
identity as a local brand of Jeju, its products are made using agar-agar
and Jeju agricultural products (carrots, tangerines, green tea, etc.) collected
by Jeju female diver.
