The ‘2025 2nd Dolchaengi Festival’ will take place at the outdoors Jeju Stone Park and the O Baekjanggun Gallery from the 26th to the 27th of April! Hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Stone Culture Park Management Office, learn more about the culture and values of ‘dolchaengi’ (stonemasons) whilst enjoying various experiences.
Visit the festival on the first day for the opening ceremony, special exhibitions, seminars, and experience programs. Meet the artists who participated in the special exhibition ‘A World Made of Stone, People Who Make the World’, during the opening ceremony or attend a seminar with the theme ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage Value of Jeju Stone Wall Building Knowledge and Technology’. There will even be a presentation and discussion highlighting the multi-layered value of Jeju’s stone walls. If you’d like something more fun and easygoing, enjoy a jazz concert by Jasmine Band or head on outdoors to stack or stamp stones, play 5 stones, take some quizzes, or let your children indulge in making Scandia moss frames and resin art.
On the second day, get ready to watch participants take part in either the general or stonemasion category of a stone wall building competition with nothing but their hands and hand tools. Every participant will be awarded with prizes, and the winners will even receive money! Anyone can also enjoy a magic performance by Ray, a taekwondo display, and busking performances of Ghibli classics!
